Who We Are

Our Story

Our vision is to be the go-to strategy and delivery partner for navigating complex digital and technology challenges. Here’s how it’s going so far…

“I set up Swift Strategies to help organisations get unstuck. We’ve experienced huge growth since then, but our mission is still the same: to put an end to siloed decision-making, to enable delivery of outcomes with real impact and to connect systems (and people) that don’t communicate. I’m incredibly proud of our team and humbled by our achievements.”

Nathan Swift, Founder

A Swift history

Swift starts as a company of one (2008 - 2013)
Our lovely founder Nathan (and we’re not just saying that) sets up Swift Strategies offering tech advisory to startups in his spare time alongside development, data and delivery roles at Capita and Dr Foster Intelligence. Phew.
Swift swoops in to support central government (2013 – 2019)
Nathan joins GDS as Programme Delivery Manager and a year later is asked to lead the delivery of the Cabinet Office Technology Transformation. With a reputation for getting stuff done, we support other Government departments with tech transformation and build capability into Civil Service teams at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy, Ministry of Justice and the Department for Education. In 2019, we win our first G-Cloud contract with the Department for Education and we start to grow with ad hoc support from trusted experts.
A year of ups and downs (2020)
Covid hits and Nathan becomes a pivotal partner on the ‘Get Help with Tech’ Programme, helping the Department for Education deliver laptops and internet access to 1.95 million kids across the UK.
Swift starts to soar with the help of a terrific team (2021)
We start working with Cardiff University, RM Education and Pearson, and building up the Swift team and developing partnerships with like-minded, shared-value suppliers. We win our first major contracts with Central Government (Cabinet Office, GPA, FCDO, DfE), some of whom still work with us today. We additionally start working with central government on a HR and Finance transformation and onboard other government, blue light and Higher Education clients. It’s a year of rapid (or should we say swift) growth.
We ramp up our responsibilities (2024)
The Swift team keeps growing, and we partner with The Passage, an incredible Westminster-based charity helping people in London leave homelessness behind. EcoVadis awards us a silver medal for our commitment to sustainability. The team is also awarded ISO Accreditations ISO27001, ISO9001, ISO14001.
We live up to our name and values (2025)
2025 is the year of ‘fast’. We onboard 36 associates in 2 weeks for a big government HR and payroll transformation. We’re listed in the Tussell Tech200 as the 2nd fastest-growing company in the UK public sector (with a whopping growth rate of 2263%). We experience a pinch-us moment when Swift Strategies is ranked #17 in The Times Top 100 fastest-growing companies. And Good Business Pays awards us the ‘2025 Fast Payer Award’.
So many proud moments (2026)
Sally-Anne Lawrence is promoted to Managing Director and Carolyn Venn is promoted to Operations Director. We’re ranked as the UK’s fastest growing (and Europe’s second fastest) Management Consultancy in the Financial Times FT1000. Stay tuned for the next chapter…
